This message got my attention, because of the message. Especially with everything going on with politics in America right now, I really felt a connection to this message to "Make Love Not Walls."
I feel like the target audience is anyone who is an active citizen in their country. If you are involved in the world, and understand what is going on with politics, especially in America and the United Kingdom, this message is for you. It doesn't matter if you are young, old, woman or man. I think everyone can understand and feel something when reading this message.
The words in this campaign are clear and concise. They are bold and easy to read and they convey the message clearly. You automatically know what the message is. There isn't any other text to distract you, which shows that Diesel only has one point to make in order to draw you in.
The images in this campaign are really bright and colorful, and also make a statement that is consistent with the campaign mission. You can see a tall grey wall that is surrounded by barbed wire, but then you see a giant colorful tank with people surrounding it. It's a really powerful image that also catches your attention. This image helps persuade the audience to take a moment and analyze their political agendas, and decide to put love first.
I think that this advertisement is culturally different than anything I've seen in America, because there wouldn't be paid advertisement just to make a political statement. I see statements and images like this on social media, but never as paid advertisements. I feel like the United Kingdom will sacrifice profit in order to get a point across.
I really liked this advertisement campaign, not only because of its positive and loving message, but also becuase they are all over London. I think it's important to make a political statement even if it might hurt your brand. Most likely this helped Diesel's brand even more, because it promotes a nonviolent message that brings everyone together despite their differences.
